Synopsis:
Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.
Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them. The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked—and given the ultimate choice. Die
or become one of the monsters.
Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.
Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outside her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend—a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.
But it isn’t easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what—and who—is worth dying for
Review:
Julie Kagawa is one of my favorite YA writer's, I fell in love with the world she creates masterfully when I stumbled upon the Iron Fey series, so I have been waiting with baited breath for her latest book. Everywhere I looked it seemed someone was giving it away, and each time I was not a winner, I cannot begin to tell you how frustrating that was.
I wasn't let down when I finally got my hands on the book, my eyes quickly devoured the excellent read.
Set in a time when a virus has swept through the world, decimating the population and putting the human population amongst the endangered, Vampires rose in the ranks to rule. As people are wiped out by the plague, there is one Vampire who wanted a cure, to save man kind, and so, he hunted down his own kind and gave them over the scientist's in hopes of changing things. He was wrong, very wrong, now there is a new strain of the disease, where you do not die but become one of the rabid's, and no one is safe, not even the vampire's.
Allie, our main character goes through a series of life altering event's where she must choose where her loyalties lie, where the test of friendship and love are put to the test and knives are planted firmly in her back. She also must face those who want her dead because of who she knows.
Fans of the Iron Fey buckle up and sit back as you partake in yet another breathtaking ride that becomes Alli Sakemoto's life, in an action packed love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have your heart racing as you try and figure out what Kagawa has in store next.
Favorite Charrie:
Zeke, because no matter what he saw, what he had to go through he was still a good person. The type of good person that goes out of their way to help someone, who still can smile and try and help other's, even at the risk of his own life.

5 Ravens!
