Darkness Rising By Keri Arthur

Synopsis:
Risa will go to any lengths to avenge her mother’s murder—even if it means making a pact with the most evil vampire she’s ever met. Lethal and powerful, Madeline Hunter is leader of the vampire council, and will put her resources behind finding the killer—for a price. The venerable vampire requires the assistance of Risa’s psychic powers. Quid pro quo.

Someone—or something—is targeting the elders of the local council, cursing the immortal vampires to rapidly age, sink into madness, and die. Risa must track down the vengeful being responsible. But Risa’s father, a rogue Aedh priest, also enlists her in a dangerous mission. And not even the great Madeline Hunter may be able to protect her from the shadowy forces that desire nothing less than Risa’s destruction

Review:
With Rissa's story it is like being put in a  time machine when I first opened up and became of Riley's journey all those years ago. The two just seem to follow in each other's footsteps as they had to have faced adventure and trouble one after another and become twisted and tangled in a messy love triangle.

And I love every second of it. Keri Arthur is one of my favorite author's, her books line my shelf's and she is always one of the author's I fly to the shelves to buy.

My one problem with this book was what happened to Tao, I just could not believe it! I don't want to be a spoiler so I will leave it at that but it truly drew such emotion from me that I actually found myself worrying about how he and Illena would end up, which the second book does not tell unfortunately, but understandably as I am sure the third will explain and they need to sell books. I am eagerly awaiting the next addition so I can sigh and think back on my life as I read Riley's journey. Also I want to figure out who that mystery man is that is being revealed as the new big bad villian.

Rating:
4.5 Stars!
Favorite Charrie:
Azriel, because he thinks he stands a chance fighting against love.
